Local Atlanta scene legend Russell Jackson used to organize riff fest in the 90's. Riff fest is a gathering of a group of musicians who all perform together in a semi orchestrated manner. The mood for each piece is set by using either lights or videos etc. etc, but what the musicians actually play to each mood is entirely up to each individual musician. Present on riffest II is three drummers, five guitarists, four basses and one keyboardist all playing and jamming off each other. Altogether it sounds like a massive very textured tsunami of rock hubris that is actually pretty soothing and probably good to fall asleep too.
